Erling Haaland: The Norwegian Superstar - Success Story So Far
Every great football player has a breakout season where they announce themselves to the world and catch the attention of the footballing world with their phenomenal talent. For Norwegian Erling Haaland, it was the 2019/2020 season where he went goal crazy first for RB Salzburg and then in the latter half of the season for Borussia Dortmund.

Son of a professional footballer, Haaland was born in Leeds. He later grew up in Bryne, Norway where he started his football career. After a strong season with the reserve team, scoring 18 goals in 14 games, he made his professional debut at just 15 years old.

In 2017, he moved to Molde FK where he trained under former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. His second season in the national league saw him under the spotlight, scoring four goals in just 17 minutes in a league game against SK Brann.

In January 2019, he moved to Austrian league champions RB Salzburg. In his first season, the Norwegian played for Salzburg only five times. However, he ended the season as a sensation: in the U-20 World Cup, Haaland scored nine times in a 12-0 win over Honduras.

Haaland, then aged 19, proved his goal-scoring abilities early in the 2019 season in Austria. He scored his first hat-trick for Red Bull against Wolfsberger AC. Another four hat-tricks followed, including his Champions League debut against KRC Genk. At the end of the first half of the season, Haaland had an impressive goal-scoring record with RB: in 22 games, he scored 28 goals.

As a result, many top clubs showed interest in the Norwegian. Haaland decided to join Borussia Dortmund. And the young player also did not need much time to settle in at BVB. Haaland scored three goals in his first Bundesliga game against Augsburg. Alongside Aubameyang, the Norwegian was the only player to score 3 goals in his debut. At the end of the season, the BVB striker had scored 13 times in 15 games. And he also scored 2 goals in the Champions League - where he now has 10 goals.
